Would you rehome your child if it didn't turn out the way you expected it to? You do have a choice, you can not bring the dog home at all. Talk to the breeder and see if she can sell to someone else. I'm sure she would much rather keep the dog for a bit longer than to not have control over who her pup is going to.

If you are out the money, then so be it. Consider it an expensive lesson in doing your homework before you buy.
