Thumbs up

I fed my dogs Royal Canine for Yorkshire Terriers for about 7 months. All the while, they were itching like crazy. Joy was itching so bad she had a bald spot on her side that has yet to grow out fully. She also licked her paws constantly. I was so desperate and the vet's only answer was to medicate them which I didn't want to do forever.

When I read the ingredients for Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, I was very impressed that they were so wholesome, natural and that meat itself (not by-products or meal of any kind) were the main ingredients. So I decided to try the food in hopes to help my itching babies.

They both LOVED it. I feed a mixture of the moist and the dry. Jig sometimes picks out the kibble (which is about the size of a standard aspirin-for those who asked) then he'll eat it as a snack later. Both have stopped itching and their coats are shiny and healthy, except for Joy's spot that's still growing in.

As for poop, I did notice a slight increase in the number of poops per day when I first started feeding it to them. For example, instead of going once a day, they'd go twice. But, they never had soft stools or diarrhea from the food. This frequency has now returned to normal and I'm glad to say they both are as right as rain, just once a day (unless they've had a large appetite for the day or something).

For those who are interested in finding out where to purchase Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, go to their website. They have a store location finder where you type in your state/town, heck maybe your zip code I can't remember but it helps you find out where to buy it. I personally feel it's reasonably priced and if my dogs like it I don't care how far I have to drive (1 hour away) to get it. Besides, I'll just go shopping in the city for myself that day and stock up on dog food while I'm at it.

Now that I've sounded like a commercial, I'll stop. I can't say enough good about this food. I think it's great. You can even identify the peas and carrot pieces used to make the moist food.
