My first yorkie was a female and she was pretty easy to housebreak. We started off with her in her crate but I felt bad about closing her in a box so I gave her the laundry room...I covered much of the floor with pee pads and once a week I would put one less down. (she was like 4 months old at the time) It was winter so we didn't start moving to outdoors til spring. I took her out on a leash and would walk her around til she pottied then she could run around the house for awhile freely. If she didn't potty then I'd put her back in her room til our next trip outside. The next thing I knew she would go to the door and do a dance wanting out. My new pup is just beginning his 10th week so he is a hit and miss right now with pads and soon he will go to the laundry room for us to begin his training but for now I just hope for the best as I think he is much to young to do alot of potty training with.
