I would say just work with the little pup and cross your fingers. There are a lot of shows and events that are more for fun --- and these are the type that your son would probably most enjoy anyway.

My pup will definitely not be show quality - but even if there were a chance, he is changing so much every day, that I have still have no idea what he's going to end up being like. (He about 4 months old.)
