It really sounds like they are progressing Viv!! I agree with the others though... My two don't really ever have scraps, so I disagree with whoever told you it was normal to happen once a day... I think that tells you that they are not 100% there and should be in their separate areas when you leave for extended periods.
I'm glad to hear that Snick seems to be accepting his little brother
