I am a groomer and i have NEVER heard of shaving the pads down! That sounds very very painful. I also work as a veterinary assistant at the same veterinary clinic where i groom, and i still have never heard of such a thing. I would not have paid for that groom. And i would certainly call and talk to her about it, so she knows how you feel.
I have groomed alot of dogs who have had very bad grooming experiences at other places. And it can take a very long time to win over their trust after this. However i do groom an adorable little girl who wont let anyone near her at our Veterinary clinic except me. It took her about 4 groomings to start to trust me. And now she falls asleep on her back while i shave her belly and trim her feet and nails. So it can be done! So i hope you can find a new groomer who you and your little dog will trust!!!! |
