Welcome! How exciting. it is great you are doing your research and ask lots of questions. I would stick with AKC and want a one year contract. I bought Cali from a non AKC breeder with a 48 hour guarantee and ended up spending well over 5,000.00 in vet bills the first 8 months. It is better to find a great breeder, pay a little more, if need be and save the heartache and financial hardship of buying from the wrong person.
