I would think it could be very dangerous for your female to have puppies at this late age. I am not an expert in dogs but I used to raise Bengal cats and wouldn't ever have one give birth when she was that old. Listen to your vet and get the shot - puppies are cute but definitely not at the expense of your 10 year old. Good luck!
