This is a great thing to do in the summer/springtime. Reasonable day trip, or if you are really avid plan a weekend of waterfalling. Many trails are fairly easy for the novice hiker, and most trails allow our pups.
Hubby who is a avid photographer gets to do some photography, the pups love the smells and sights of new places, and if we are really lucky there is a place for swimming for them too
Spring is the best time to catch the waterfalls at the peak volumne of water. We love to take a picnic lunch, get there fairly early in the AM, do the walks, set up our picnic area, then some time for snaps, exercise the pups, nosh on a great lunch, then kick back read some, nap some, and leisurely journey back home.
Even with the price of gas, most places are free parking/entry, and if you take food along, a great day can be had for a tank of gas
