In order to give him some idea of where to go potty (on the pad) next time he goes poo just take it and place it on the pad... Take him to it, let him sniff around, and than leave it there until he successfully uses the pad. Be sure that when he uses the pads give him plenty of praise and "atta boys" You may need do change the poo a few times before he gets the hang of things so it don't start to smell bad.
Sounds kind of GROSE but it works.... this is how I trained all of my dogs and the puppies that I sell.
