Bordatella is the intranasal vaccine. It is a live vaccaine and there have been many pups who have developed kennel cough from the vaccine. My first pup did. Sounds like yours has, too. It is basically an upper respiratory infection and you will most likely be given an antibiotic. It can take quite a while to completely go away.

The cough that results can make them feel as though they are choking and cannot get air, causing them to panick. If you can soothe while coughing, this usually helps calm them down.

BTW - no vaccine can be automatically administered as you have the right and responsibility to know what your vet or tech is giving and should be consenting first.
