No, he just said to put him on the Royal Canin, which I've slowly switched over to, and still feeding 1/8 of my food with organic chicken, a veggie and rice pasta.

The RC seems ok, but the first 2 ingredients are white rice (which is hard to digest for humans and dogs) and corn, which is the worse ingredient you can feed dogs, especially since it is genetically modified.

I told my vet I wanted to find low protien diets I could cook and he was fine with that. I'm searching for a good holistic animal nutritionist now. Know of anyone?

Reading today I linked to a few sites from this blog and found some good info. Will add a little of what I read. He has absolutely no symptoms. Vet thinks it might be a liver shunt. I will definitely keep him on the kibble until I can learn more.

Appreciate you responding, and I will add in celery, as that was a vegetable listed. He seems to be gaining a bit of weight from the kibble. He is not a big eater, which is a symptom of liver disfunction. Guess this is common in yorkies.
