Yes. Neutering will stop the incessant need to mark but you'll have to use special urine scent remover to remove all of the scent and retrain. My dog was 9 mos. old when I got him and not neutered either but he wasn't a "marker" yet. After neutering, his potty training was completely successful and he's been totally clean in the house. He's 3 years old and I swear to you, that feisty little male MUCH prefers his scent outdoors and has NEVER marked in this house. I swore I wouldn't get a male due to the worry about this but my sister said her males never marked and if I crate trained him, he wouldn't mark either. She was right, at least so far and I've had him over 2 years.
