Default Hello Everyone......First time

Actually my second try since first post didn't take so here I go again. We have two Yorkies... Brody, who is an amazing 3yr old male who can leap tall buildings in a single bound and weighs in at a svelt 9lbs. Our second new addition is Carly who is now in her 13th week and is everything you would expect from a 2lb bundle of absolute joy. After 30yrs of dog companionship ( all of which were Cocker Spaniels ) we decided to go small so when we got Brody as a pup at 12 weeks it was a whole new experience, but a great one. And now with Carly we hope to double the pleasure....BUT.... here is our situation. Brody will have nothing to do with his new sibling. From the time we got home with her he runs from her as if he is terrified, yet with other dogs that come to visit he is more than happy to see them and romp around the house. In the past week he has gotten a little better and will at least stay in the same room with her but will not get close. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Second, and most disconcerting was the discovery from our vet that Carly has an open Fontella and Bilateral Hernias. The breeder offered to take her back (she was very upset as well ) and refund the money, but after we had her that first weekend this is not an option for us as we will not abandon her since we adore her loving personality and the money is irrelavent. The vet says the Hernias can be fixed when Carly gets spayed in May and the breeder has said she will pay the cost. Has anyone had experience with these? Other than this setback, she is progressing perfectly in every other way. We have nursed all our dogs through various sicknesses and cancer and we will not give up on Carly....... she is ours. Any and all insights welcome...... thanx for listening,
