After much reading, I'm trying to figure out what type of blade & comb attachments I need to get to keep Snickers's hair the length I want. I would like it to stay about 1.25 to 1.5 inches in length on the body...just a little less than it is now, but not much. I think he's got about 2" currently...but I'm terribly bad at judging the length of hair.
When my groomer used to clip him, his hair was a bit shorter than this, but I would really like to keep it a bit longer. (My groomer has permanently injured her hand and so I'm opting to do my own grooming now...and it'll be the first time using clippers on a dog for me).
I was looking at purchasing some of the Wahl Stainless Steel combs (my former groomer recommended that I buy metal and not plastic combs), but from what I can gather with my little bit of understanding, the longest length on these is 1". In looking at other metal combs, I couldn't really find anything longer than 1". Am I just not looking in the right places?
Here are pictures of what Snickers looks like now....can someone with some knowledge please guide me to what #blade and combs I should use in order to keep the length I want?
