Hi Katrina!! I'm so happy you adopted a 5 year old yorkie! That's not too old at all!! I just adopted a 10 yr. old little girl and it's been alot of fun!!
Don't give up with the leash...just tug a little, if you can get her to move then let up on the leash...try to keep the forward momentum going....eventually she'll LOVE walking with the harness...its like anything else...its new to her...so it will take some time for her to get used to it!

Please feed her premium dog food....Thats really important for her overall health... Sounds good that you aren't free feeding...don't need her to gain more weight...
