I would imagine...what is her pre-pg weight?
Mine had 3 pups (good size: 4.5, 5.0, & 5.5) weighed 5 1/2 pre pg and 6.4 at xray time, while nursing dropped to skeletal 4.5 and after a high calorie diet which she can't seem to give up being a chow hound she currently weighs 6.2 (no ribs to be felt!!!) I'm hoping when the weather clears (10" of snow last night!!) I can take her out walking, get her back to a fit weight for her body.
But I don't think size is the sole contributing factor to an easy whelp. Mine's mother and grandmother had theirs quick and easy. Mine had all three in 2 1/2 hours without a whimper. So I think genetics plays a great deal in whether or not a dog will do okay. I had her thoroughly checked before getting her bred, the vet assured me her hips were good and wide and he didn't think she'd have any problems, again confirmed at x-ray time...they measured the pups heads to her pelvis and again confirmed she'd have them on her own.
Did they compare the pup's sizes to your dog's pelvis?? That would tell you more.
