I have done this too, only my infant daughter was in the car in her car seat looking up at me when it happened many years ago, way before cell phones, and I was afraid to leave the car to go inside the store to make a phone call so I paced back and forth until I finally convinced myself I had to.....
This thread really makes me feel like I am in good company. For so long I thought I was all alone in my nonsensical behaviors.
