Keep in mind that an invisible fence does not protect against predators. Just last week a small chihuahua was killed in my town when 2 larger roaming dogs entered his yard.

Also keep in mind that some dogs will quickly figure out that the shock is fleeting and that they can easily get outside the designated area. Often the dog will not risk the shock to return to the yard.

Dog trainer Victoria Stilwell has said on her show that invisible fences have been proved to cause health problems.
