When I first took her to him I asked him about spaying her and he asked me why I would want to do that. I thought it was better for her but he informed me that it is risky so I decided against it. Am I prepared to take care of the puppies? I have a sister who is a surgical nurse who will be staying with me for awhile when Sadie goes into labor. I have puppy formula, bottles, blankets, pads, a whelping box , emergency vet and hospital numbers and all the love my little girl needs. So yes, I think I am very prepared. If I have to feed them every two hours then I will do that to. I have raised 7 skin kids I think I can handle some puppies. Did I want Sadie to get pregnant, NO, but whats done is done so now all I can do is be there for her and help her and the babies along. I come here for advise on things I am not sure of and I go to the vet if it is an emergency. All in all I think we are ok. Thank you all for the advice, she loves cottage cheese. | i think that your vet is possibly too old and outdated to understand all the new and better technology surrounding dogs and birth. i would certainly find a second "fresher" opinion if i were you. |
