When my eldest daughter was around 18 months old - she is now 44, we were over at my parents house in the morning. Lunch time we decided we would have fish and chips from the local chippy. I went to buy them taking my daughter in her stroller. When I got back to my parents, my mother asked where my daughter was!! I rushed back to the chippy and there was her stroller parked outside and she was just enjoying the activity in the area. I couldn't believe I had forgotten her. Luckily this was a town where you didn't have to worry about children being kidnapped etc - and a total different era than today of course. My mother never let me forget it!
