Thanks Maximo!

Looks like I'm going to have to change his eating habits if we can't get him to start going on the pad I hate to do that because he's always been a grazer but for some reason he's really confused about pooping now. And since we can tell he knows its wrong it makes me wonder if he's starting to think its wrong to poop at all, much less on the carpet.

Moose has never ever went up stairs (he had LP surgery a year ago and we forbid it) and he has never wanted to go upstairs. He never tries to and he's scared of them. But he had been (before the gate) been going up 1 huge flight, a corner turn and another flight of stairs to poop up there! That is definitely the strangest thing.

If he doesn't eat in the evening and waits until late to eat the next morning he will throw up because of an empty stomach- so I know that turning him into a scheduled eater is going to involve lots of upset tummy and him getting sick before he finally gets it. But looks like that may be the only thing.. I'm going to try the xpen thing first to see if he'll start to understand that over time. Hope so!
