First off- you say this is a total surprise- is the breeder aware of this? Most breeders do not allow people to buy pets for other people as a surprise. Yorkies are a TON of work and are not something that should be forced on to someone. Is your mother going to be ready to make the lifestyle changes necessary to own one of these dogs? Can she afford the bills/ or want to pay the bills that come with having one of these dogs?
Also- since this dog is a surprise, I think you should buy the necessary items she will need to get started with this dog- a crate or expen, a blanket, some toys, dishes, a bag of food, a leash and harness, dog tags, etc. Maybe you can make them into a nice basket and then you can put the photos in an album on top.
