Default tests

You can breed two Yorkies with excellent knees and get pups with bad ones, it is a recessive gene. I find it interesting when a breeder says their dogs have been tested for genetic diseases. The vets at Cornell say they have no routine genetic tests breeders can do. Each Yorkie in a breeding program can have a 100% clean bill of health, but produce pups with genetic diseases. That is why healthy parents can produce liver shunt pups. You need to buy from an honest breeder who knows the bloodline..it is more then two parents, it is an entire pedigree of dogs.
