My 3 girls started having accidents when I took in Nikki a male rescue. I thought I would have problems with him but he adjusted to the pads from day one and always uses them or goes outside when he's out. I got so tired of all the accidents, I started from scratch. They are pretty much in my bedroom with me and that's where the pee pads are. I started watching them like a hawk and when they would go on the pads I would make a big deal about it and go get them a few cheerios as a reward. Also, they seemed to like to have accidents, right in front of my bed. So I went to Menard's and bought these plastic runners and put them in front of my bed. They don't look great but it seemed to break them of their bad habit. Now when Cali or Roxie use the pads they come running over kicking their back feet until they get a treat. The other day I didn't get up right away and Roxie kicked her feet for 5 minutes until I got her treat. They have gotten 95% better.
