he's also starting to play with and eating his poop too. When I catch him in the act, i give him a firm NO and put him in the crate while I clean up the mess. i'm starting to give him deter so he wont eat his poop. i started by giving him 1/2 a pill per day but 3 days have passed and he's still munching on his poop. so i'm going with a full pill from now on.
whenever he makes a mess, rather than giving him a full bath, i put on a pair of rubber gloves and use baby wipes to wipe him all over until the baby wipes is no longer stained. then wipe again with a damp paper towel, then again with a dry paper towel. it's a PITA but i think it saves his skin from exccessive bathing at least.
i'd love to hear what worked for you when you've solved the poopy eating, not going outside, habits! | Here is an update on our baby girl.
Great news! Our baby finally stop the poopy eating. We took the playpan off as she get really good at going in the litterbox. Ever since she has full run of the house, she stop the bad habit. I guess mainly because she wants to stay close to us as much as possible. She would go potty on her own and came right back to us. Staying away from the litter box does help I guess. I do clean it up as soon as I notice the box was soiled. That work out pretty well and she is now potty trained.
She still won't go outside though - no matter how long we stay out there. However, as long as she is potty trained, that's good enough for us. Whenever we were visiting friends, I will put down newspaper in an area and show it to her. She would go on the paper when she needs to or when I told her to (on commend). Using newspaper instead of dog litter in the litter box turn out to be a great idea.
Once again, big thanks to everybody here for all the help. |
