BUN stands for Blood Urea Nitrogen.

Tell your Vet that she drinks a lot of water, and her urine is not yellow. Tell him that you want a BUN and Creatinine. When he gets the results, depending on them, he will ask for a sample of urine to confirm that she is not concentrating her urine and he will check for protein in her urine.

I am not trying to scare you, but my Sydney had routine lab work done in Oct. and the BUN ad Creatine came back elevated, so my Vet asked for the samplel of urine, and she is in chronic renal failure.

I am not saying that is what is wrong with your new baby, but it is important to check for it. Because with an early change in diet, she can live a good quality of life for years.

The tests aren't expensive, and considering she is a Rescue, it's a good thing to check out.
