I think they spring it on them when it is time to go and what they are wearing is what the end up with. That is how it would be in the real world of surviving catastrophe at sea.
If I went on the show I would make sure I had a two piece swim suit on under my clothes all the time prior to leaving for the location. I see a lot of bra and panties don't you?
