Collapsed trachea is a permanent condition that grows progressively worse with age. Your vet would have to do an x-ray to confirm a diagnosis. Discuss with your vet the symptoms that have you concerned. Is she coughing or honking? There are many things that can cause this, not necessarily CT.

Pain from spaying and neutering varies from dog to dog, but it is almost always very short lived (1 day or 2). The vet can give you pain medication for after surgery.

I would recommend reading the benefits of spaying and having a meeting with your vet before making your final decision. My understanding is that the risk of uterine cancer in unspayed females is very high.
