I give mine treats. I ask them to be "still" and show them the treat and they immediately become calm. I let them have the treat and they stay quiet a while. If the struggle resumes I show another treat and give it after they have been calm for some minutes.
Eventually they learned grooming is unavoidable.
I do wish they would enjoy it as other dogs do but I am grateful they at least find it endurable. lol
