Piper's did that for the longest time - one ear up the other ear down - for what felt like months. We were pretty sure they would stay that way, my daughter was thrilled because she would be different and stand out. Then one day they both stood up, and I held my breath, cause they would flop down again, and they stayed up much to my daughter's disappointment!!
