To Mellissa3674 . . . I got my Tiger when he was just 7 weeks old and being that he came from a breeder that has 6 boys of their own, he was very sociable already. He was almost pad trained too so now, after going on 4 weeks, he's just gotten better! He is fully pad trained and is very good at holding it for long periods. He has gotten used to entertaining himself whenever we are at work, but as soon as we get home, he's ready to have fun and be playful. Also, he now sleeps on my bed the entire night without needing to relieve himself.

Just today, we were out shopping and taking him to meet friends of ours so he can get familiar with strangers, and during the entire 4 hours, he "held it" pretty good.

Yorkies are wonderful adorable lap dogs and just loves to be held and cuddled. That is what I do most of the time when we are not playing.

Here are my tips for you:
Get those Deluxe Housebreaking pads at Walmart - they are very inexpensive and wonderful in getting them used to the pad. Lay them where you want him to relieve himself. Being that they are still very young, I try to give him enough pad so there is plenty of room . . .I double it - stapling them together.

Give him lots and lots of cuddles so they know they are "loved".

As soon as he has the required shots to get exposed to other dogs, sign him up for puppy training at petsmart right away . . .I tell you they learn very fast. My tiger learned to sit on command only after a few days of practice after his first lesson!

Give him lots of chewable toys to entertain himself so he won't be chewing you your stuff.

Give him the best food . . .anyway they don't eat much!

Get him a harness - Walmart has them very inexpensive.

I read that it is critical that they meet lots of strangers within their first 3 months so their social skills are well formed, so invite or take him to meet as many of your firiends as possible. . . .don't delay!
