Funny post, I love the estimated % of completion metric, by command!

My first Yorkie who was a genius dog, similar to Britster's in her post above. He knew dozens of commands and would perform to near perfection every time. He would learn new tricks in no time with a minimum of repetition.

Our current pack is not as swift in the obedience department. They only know the basics:

Sit ~95%

Stay ~20% with no treat in hand, ~90% with visible treat

Lie down ~50% with no treat after repeated commands, but much higher with treat in hand

Look out the window - ~100% (they know there is a payoff in this one)

Shake - ~75%, but they often do a half ass job at it. It’s more like they stick out a paw, but don't get the shaking part.

Twirl ~80% with a treat.

The funny thing is that our female Ms Daisy knows many words, but they both stink at commands. When we talk, we need to use code words for terms such as: Cat, Squirrel, Walk, Treat… They have figured those out.

Mr J Gatsby even taught himself a trick, he goes to get us, and jumps up and down like a Jack Russel to let us know he defecated on the pee pad, because he knows that showing us will lead to a treat.

The one trick I wish I could teach them the most? SHUT UP !!
