i've had 2 in a carrier totally about 14 pounds and it is very heavy to carry for any length of time. Pettote makes really nice ones . the biggest size would fit 2 perfect, but they are expensive.
i've used a doggy stroller in the mall and it is wonderful. if you zip them in, most people dont even realize there is a dog in the stroller, they think there is a baby.
