It is actually 36 x 36 she had a larger one but always seemed so sad and scaried when we left her. It was alot more open (metal) When I got this one I thought maybe it was a little small (she is small though) so we gave it a try and she loves...loves...loves it. I think it makes her feel safe. She will go in it all by herself. She is only in it when we are not home...otherwise she is always with us.
