I've also found that when I'm thanking the cashier, I often say, "Good Boy!" Talk about embarrassing. I think it sounds so weird that people don't understand what I said. At least, no one has looked offended, yet. |

And to address the thread - I find myself using the tone at times, but not the actual words.
I did once, address a co-worker, with 'What Sweetie?" ~ on a long trip home after a loong meeting. My son was about 2 at the time. I was really embarrassed.
