I don't remember the name of it because it was a while ago... It was supposed to be a really good food and it was expensive so I thought he'd do well on it but he was sick with it too and would go a day without eating... SO we went to the vet again and the vet put him on prescription food I.D. I think was it... It was very bland... He did well on it but he ate the bare minimal. Then we went to my parents and he LOVED the food they feed their lab, Purina One... (I know, Purina/Pro Plan gets heat on this site...) But he loved it and it didn't upset his tummy so that's what we got him...

He's been on that for about 2 months and has always eaten okay on it but now he's like FEED ME!!! So I've been giving him as much as he wants but he's eating so much more!!! Which since he's small isn't a bad thing, I didn't know if it was a side affect for male dogs because I know it is for female dogs...

I guess I'll keep giving it to him if he's doing okay and not obese...?

I am a firm believer in "human grades" in pet food, and probably have been one of the ones who have given Pro Plan what for!
However, when you actually find something that your dog will eat... you should stick with it. I say feed him as much as he wants until you start noticing any unhealthy change.
We try to do whats best for our pups, but in the end...its all about just getting them to eat!
