Welcome to YT!! Is it possible to put Bentley on a cabinet in your room so he can see you at night - this might work until he gets a little older. We had Darwin's crate right next to me on the floor and I would dangle my fingers in front so he could see that I was still around. I agree that getting him tired out before bed is also really helpful - good luck and remember, this stage doesn't last too long - it really does get much better!
