Could start with a few veterinary reproduction textbooks and see what you come up with.. Now sure if there is anything on pubmed right now or not.
I do like seeing research to back things up, but in the end I will listen to board certified vets when in doubt. They are the experts in this area, and even if there was a study done (which there have been as far as I know), there is no way I could interpret the information as well as they could. So I think there is some trusting involved... I wouldn't say trust a breeder on the internet or trust an organization with an agenda, but the American College of Theriogenologists has enough weight for me to listen. Don't remember how much they say about the age of s/n and the outcome, but there is a clear increase in osteosarcoma and I think hemangiosarcoma. Just form other info I've seen, it would seem likely that holding off for awile would at least decrease the number of OSA cases. It is something I have become very interested in because there really is no one right answer except do what you have to do to assure your dog doesn't reproduce.
