As a breeder, I took my bitch to the vet for an after whelp check and shot..so there is a record of the bitche whelping...who sheis and how many. Then I took a stool sample at 6 weeks..then at 8 weeks the pups got a well puppy check...and at 12 weeks if I was selling a pup, it went to the vet for a 12 shot..(I gave earlier ones) and well puppy check.
If this breeder has no records of her pups and adults seeing the vet, I would be very concerned..

its possible for 2 small parents to produce a larger pup/dog. Tucker was 5 pounds at 4 months old and at 2 years is between 9/10 pounds. He is very stocky as to where both of his parents were 4 pounds and very small boned. His brother (from same litter) and his "sisters" from the next litter all stayed under 4 pounds and small. I call him my wanna be bulldog.

.. anyways, he is proof that is very possible!

I hope it all works out for you and this pups is healthy..
