This is what I do too!
I am careful to look at the ingredients to make sure there are no onions or anything else toxic to dogs in the ingredients- usually if you stick with stage 1 foods they have less ingredients.
I also cook chicken sometimes if I am not being quite as lazy- that is probably the better alternative if you have the time.
