I totally agree. I can get raw through a meat processor pretty cheap. Take a little more work, but can easily feed my GSD for a lot less then high quality kibble or even some of the high quality cheap grocery store brands.
I also know that many places will give discounts for breeders when they buy in bulk and that would bring the costs down.
