I am not here to offer any advice because I've never had the poop eating issues part.

I just lost my 11.5 year old yorkie in January and some of the things she did were not her prior habits.

When she was 5 my husband passed away and she missed her daddy and pined by the door.

She also started going potty in places she never did before...my bathroom mat...my hall carpet the floor.

we gated off areas she thought she'd sneak into and my daughter and I in desperation put down 6 big potty pads in front of the family room on the ceramic tile.

did she use one of them no she pee'd on the floor next to the very last two in that line.

Her issue she was grieving the loss of her daddy and acting out she did that for 4 months then my mom came to visit and she started being good again.

I truly think she was grieving not only for her daddy but for me as well since I had a rough time coping with our loss as well.

Having my mom around she noted my lighter mood my guess and of course nanny's girl would never do such a think mommy was a big fat liar speech sure as heck I thought she was grinning at me like....nanny doesn't believe you mama.

Now I'll go back about a year and half when she was about 9 her eyesight at this time not as good but her bladder she had a pad in my bedroom and one downstairs.

I had to add one near the top of the stairs because in the mornings sometimes she couldn't hold it and just HAD to be where ever I was fast.

My son wasn't too happy with the potty pad there but he got over it since the pad was better not to step on than not seeing a puddle on the hardwood.

She was also always a mama's girl and cuddler and my new rescue is the same a mama's girl and snuggled right now beside my leg as I type this on my laptop.

my yorkie had issues we didn't even know existed until poof we lost her that day but the vet said...we wouldn't figure out liver or kidney's not functioning properly or see signs until it was at about 25 percent which was the most common number they saw.

I was freaking out wondering how I missed this or anything.

so you should get a full workup done on her if they have not done that for sure just so you can be sure something other than the fact its just like people are in old age and can't hold it anymore if we sneeze etc

all dogs are different but most yorkies are all the same and sensitive souls I didn't even have to raise my voice at binky just a low disappointed voice and she'd slouch like she was beaten and never got a slap in her life.

My daughters very badly behaved pom no laughing but I got her to behave at my house by looking at her telling her she broke my heart and pretending to cry that she ruined my new flooring

that was 2 years ago and to this day she runs into my house and the first thing she does is go on the potty pad even if it at times is the size of a dime
