I don't want to return the dog. What should I do? If I open a small claims case, will they ask that I return the dog in order to get my money and fees for the DNA test back? A mixed breed dog isn't worth what I paid. I paid $400 for her. Mixed breed dogs are frequently available for free or under $100.00. |
Since you are in CA, I would strongly suggest you get your hands on a copy of the Doggy Lemon Law for CA. You might be able to use this law against the Breeder to obtain a full refund and still keep your puppy!
I agree with everyone else, do not return this puppy to this Breeder...she will surely just scam another owner.
One of the first red flags you should have noted was the Breeder's price for a Yorkshire Terrier puppy.
Next...before you rush out to find another puppy, a Yorkshire Terrier...might I suggest you take your time getting to know the puppy you already have now. Your puppy needs your undivided attention right now.
Best of luck to you!
