Morning everyone,

Dawn27, the dad is a Maltese so these babies are Morkies. There was 2 different dads that she could have been around and at delivery the Maltese was deemed the father. Good thing since the other dog was a chihuahua. Don't know how that would have turned out. LOL

Just got back from the vet this morning. Momma got her lifeline (IV) taken out!!!! She weighs 4.3 now...maintaining her weight even though she is nursing. Vet said this is probably her normal weight and probably what she weighed when she got pregnant. She checked out perfectly. Gave us another round of Amoxi and we have switched her to puppy food and off the A/D. She goes back on Saturday to have her stitches removed. Said that by next Wednesday we will be in the clear but until then to continue to monitor everything and still call in my daily updates. He does want her to take some calcium but did not want her to take the tums. So I have to go get a calcium pill for her that I can crush and offer that with her food. I have no problems getting her to eat at all. I do have to make her leave the babies for a little bit and she will. Think she needs a break every now and then. She is supplying about 80% of the feedings in a day so I am only supplementing a few and then each pup will get 1 full bottle feeding a day just to give mom a little break. Last supplement that I had to do was at 3 am since I had a few criers but nothing since.

Pups looked great according to the vet. Healthiest ones he has seen in a long time is what he said. Made me feel good. Said to keep doing whatever it is that I have been doing since it was working.

As for the names....I did a post in the nursery section asking for names for the girls. The boy is named Riley after my vet and that was decided the morning that they were born. On my drive there I said I wanted 3 girls and 1 boy and the boy would be named Riley. Well sure enough that is what I got and he fits that name. The vet just loves him. On my thread the names for the girls that has been suggested was Hope, Faith and Grace. As soon as I seen it I knew it was perfect and apparently so has everyone else so as of now that is their names. I did it in order of birth so the brown girl is Hope, black girl is Faith and baby is Grace or Gracie. I just wanted something different for them besides the normal names that all the dogs have. Besides I felt that since YT members had a big part in our survival I thought they should at least be a part of deciding their names. Someone suggested that I do a poll so I am going to post that and see if that is what the majority votes for or if we get some other suggestions for them. Would love all of your input. So we are starting out with another GREAT day.
