Default Inexpensive backdrop/background ideas?

I'm trying to come up with different, inexpensive backdrop ideas. I want a fabric that doesn't wrinkle easily, or at least doesn't show the wrinkles. I've found some fleece fabric that I really like, on sale, and I'm thinking about using that. Does fleece work well as a backdrop/background?

The paper backdrops were also recommended to me and I'll be trying some of that too. Is there any preference for the paper vs. material? I've seen the effect of the paper backdrop in photos and love it!

Any other input and suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Bonny
