I think the dish soap could be doing the opposite of what you hope. I'd try a clarifying shampoo. Contact Peachbongi, I think she found one for dogs that she liked. It had a funny name and I can't remember it but I do remember her telling me it kind of got rid of gunk buildup. If that doesn't work, I'd try 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar to 3/4 cup of water poured over the coat as a rinse.
