I think some of the shorter noses I have seen may well be because some breeders are trying to get the 'baby doll' face and sometimes advertise a short nose. Also many breeders try for the tinies which may be why many are smaller.
Most yorkies I have seen here on YT have the same nose as the yorkies here in the UK but when you look at many breeder websites (usually not good breeders) they all seem to have really short noses.
Yorkies are not as popular in the UK as they seem to be in the US which is why I think there is a larger market for them over there, and when you get the larger market you will always get people wanting the smallest yorkie/designer dog or whatever.
We get it over here too but more with Chi's and Pug's.
