I bought the pup right after she was born, was told 7 weeks is fine by the breeder as well as my mother (who got hers at 7 weeks with no problem), got the books, read the forum, found out 12 is best. Tried to negotiate a later pick-up with the breeder to no avail. I'd've gone elsewhere but I couldn't afford to lose the deposit.
