I am taking a wait and see approach with Max.
He has had stage I - II for 2 1/2 years now. I think he is a bit worse now than when diagnosed so I would say he is a II now. He does not appear to be in any pain. Just a limp every few steps. He is 3 years old.
I can not put him though the surgery. You would have to know Max as I do. He is a really high energy dog. If he is not sleeping, he is running & playing. The recovery would be impossible for him. He would never be able to be still to heal. Never. It would be a waste of time, money and most importantly Max would be in more pain.
SO I am just waiting and seeing if he gets worse over time. Not doing surgery unless there is NO other way for him to have a quality life.
He was a puppy mill dog and has had so many health issues.
